I was born in
Bali, Indonesia. Whenever poeple look at this name, they would probably asking themselves if it is the well known Bali that I mean. Yes, it is Bali which many people in the world have seen and want to see. I work in another part of Indonesia, Surabaya, but I still have a rapid contact with my home village in Bali. I got one year experinece to work with Philips lighting, and then I changed my mind to work as an academic. This, I think, gives me more freedom to think, create, and ....., to manage myself in the way that I want to. It is a university that gave me the first degree I work for since 1993.

Throughout my career, I have made numerous academic and professional visits to companies, most of them manufacturers, both in Indonesia and Thailand. Thanks to my students who preferred me to guide their study visits. Among the companies that I have visited are Bir Bintang (Surabaya), Coca Cola (Pasuruan), Pindad (Malang), Philips (Surabaya), Bambang Djaja (Surabaya), IBM (Jakarta), Garuda Maintenance Facilities (Jakarta), BBI (Surabaya), BBI (Pasuruan), Toyota Astra (Jakarta), IPTN (Bandung), German Motor (Jakarta), National Gobel (Jakarta), Ultra Jaya Milk (Bandung), RCTI (Jakarta), Telkom (Surabaya), PLN (Surabaya), a textile company (West Java), Pelindo (Surabaya), a packaging company (Surabaya), Jaya Pari Steel (Sidoarjo?), Aji No Motto (Mojokerto), Iglas (Surabaya), Honda (Thailand), Toyota Spareparts Supply (Thailand), a VCR industry (Thailand),a petrochemical industry (Thailand), and probably some more that I don't remember (See my resume for more detailed one).

I am a capricornus. People say that capricornus people are more serious, responsible, and generous (to mention the good ones). I am not sure whether I belong to these classifications..Click here for a more detail description of

capricornus characters. I do sometimes believe horoscope,... but as many other people say, I tend to persuade myself to believe it when the forecast looks good and try to ignore it when it says bad,...:-)

I like travelling although I haven't done so much. In Indonesia, I have been in various places in

Bali, Java, and
Lombok. In Thailand I have visited The Bridge River Kwai (the historic bridge of World War II), Wax Museum (descibes the Thai History), Rose garden, Dream World, Chaam Beach, Pattaya Beach, Erawan Water Fall in Kanchanabury, Koh Samet Beach, Chantabury, Phuket Island, Pee Pee Island (Shouterm part of Thailand), and of course the busy city of Bangkok. In UK, I have been to London, Manchester, York, Sheffield, Durham, Edinburgh, Liverpool, Lake District, Glasgow, Exeter, Nottingham, Blackpool, Cardiff, Leeds, and a small city of Lancaster where my university is situated nearby. I am going to visit some more places in the months to come or next year.

Although I like travelling to the cities, I prefer to see the beauty of the natural world. Being in the beauty, natural places, is something that leads my feeling to a hormonisation between the microcosm of the human body and the macrocosm of the world. The happiness of the human life, following the hinduism spirit, is achieved when there is a harmony between all aspects of life, not exception of that between our body and our environment.
